New content finally added to Knights of the Old Republic 2 by modders
The incresingly older republic
It's been an extremely long time coming, but the content that got cut from Knights of the Old Republic 2 following a rushed development cycle has finally been completed and released by a modding team.
The game was originally released back in December 2004, but there was wide speculation that content had been cut from the title in order to get the game out the door (which was later mostly confirmed by the project lead.) Some people still loved the game, but it was often a mess of bugs and glitches, and the ending was full of cliffhangers.
The Sith Lords Restored Content patch has now hit v1.8 and according to the modders they are officially done. The latest version of the patch fixed a ton of bugs, restored some conversations, and dug into the files to make certain sections playable that had been cut. They even reportedly helped the ending make a bit more sense.
According to PC Gamer, there will be one final piece of content coming, though. Though there wasn't enough leftover code to "salvage" it, the original plans for the game included an entire planet of droids, which the modding group has said they'd like to construct from scratch.
