New Bourne movie gets an official release date
The next instalment in the Bourne franchise has been allocated an official release date, with Universal confirming that the film will hit cinemas on 29 July 2016.
The new film will see both Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass return to the franchise, after the pair stepped down for the Jeremy Renner-starring The Bourne Legacy back in 2012.
Interestingly, Universal has also confirmed that the script will be co-written by Greengrass, Damon and Christopher Rouse, the man responsible for editing all of Greengrass’s films since The Bourne Ultimatum.
Nothing has been confirmed regarding plot details on the new project, although it is not expected that Bourne will team up with Renner’s character, Aaron Cross.
However, with an official release date pencilled in for just over 18 months’ time from now, expect plenty of updates on this one sooner rather than later…
