New Battleship poster and image arrive
"The battle for Earth begins at sea"
A new international poster has arrived for Peter Berg’s upcoming Battleship adaptation (can you adapt a board game?), and it gives an idea of the scale of the challenge faced by our nautical heroes.
Accompanied by the tagline “The battle for Earth begins at sea,” the new poster shows a vast alien craft emerging from the ocean, dwarfing the titular battleship by comparison.
A new image has also been released from the film, in which a trio of military toughs look somewhat overwhelmed by the sudden emergence of a massive extra-terrestrial ship. As a wise man once said, “we’re going to need a bigger boat.”
Liam Neeson will be heading up the human forces as the battle-hardened Admiral Shane, with Taylor Kitsch and Alexander Skarsgard playing a pair of brothers assigned to different ships. Brooklyn Decker and Rihanna are also among the cast as a physical therapist and weapons specialist respectively.
Obviously, this sounds like one of the dumber movies we’ll see this year, but that’s not to say it won’t be good fun. Liam Neeson vs. aliens? Yeah, we’ll be giving it a look. Battleship arrives in the UK on 20 April 2012.
