Konami has a pretty unpredictable portfolio these days. Outside of franchises like Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania and Silent Hill, the publisher seems to be trying a bunch of different approaches and seeing what sticks. That seems to be why such a strange looking title as NeverDead exists, with its dismemberment, ridiculous demons, and imperiled pop stars. And it was just revealed the M-Rated oddity has a concrete release date: January 31.
The plot focuses on immortal demon hunter Bryce Boltzman, who has been dispatching demons for 500 years. However, just because he can’t die doesn’t make him immortal, as during the game he’ll be ripped limb from limb, and it’s up to you to rebuild him like a ghoulish Katamari. We’ll have some fuller impressions of the late January release soon, in the meantime look over the most recent screens to see just how over the top this title looks.
