Need for Speed: Most Wanted Kinect features explained
Burn nitrous, Kitt
Criterion and EAlet loosesome details today about how the Kinect functionality will work in their upcoming open world racing title, Need for Speed: Most Wanted.
We're happy to report that Criterion isn't planning to force you to play with an invisible steering wheel. The Kinect functionality has more to do with audio than motion tracking, and it's focused on mods and extras rather than core gameplay.
You'll be able to shout at your tv to change your mods and engage things like nitrous to avoid having to scroll through menus. If you say, "mods, nitrous, burn nitrous" you'll automatically equip and engage your nitrous system. If you want to throw down some oil slick say, "mods, tires, slicks."
As with all voice controlled systems (dating as far back as Rainbox Six 3) we're still skeptical, but we're looking forward to checking it out when it launches on October 30.
