National Treasure, Rendition and We Own The Night
Treasures, tortures and traitors...
Today’s round up of new trailers seems very much about dark rooms.
Nicolas Cage, for example, is busy explore yet more tombs and chambers, chasing down the clues to a world conspiracy (that still manages to emanate from the US) in the National Treasure sequel Book Of Secrets. This time, he’s fighting to clear an ancestor’s name, but will have to go to even more extreme lengths to find what he’s looking for. You, however, can simply track down the trailer here .
Also dealing with dank chambers – though on a much more serious note – is Rendition, the new drama from Gavin “Tsotsi” Hood. With the likes of Reese Witherspoon, Peter Sarsgaard, Jake Gyllenhaal and Alan Arkin, it explores the US policy of shipping potential terrorist prisoners oversees for interrogation. It looks biting and brutal and you can find it here .
Finally, James Gray reunites his Yards acting team of Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Wahlberg in the story of two brothers – one a cop, one a club owner influenced by the Russian mob in New York. Loyalties, shift, family comes first, and tough words are exchanged. Find the footage here .
