There was a slick Green Lantern fan trailer that put Nathan Fillion in the role, but as we all know now our Mal Reynolds didn't get the gig - it went to Ryan "Deadpool" Reynolds. Is Fillion upset about that?
Apparently not. Talking to MTV last week, he was magnanimous about Reynolds' win.
"The fact is, Ryan Reynolds has been chosen for Green Lantern, and I can't think of anyone better. He's got the look, he's got the talent, he's got the chops, he's got the build - the abs, he's got superhero written all over him," Fillion told MTV. "Ryan knows exactly what he's doing and having worked with him for over two years, I know how he handles himself, I know how he attacks things and I'm a big fan."
But did he see that fan trailer with himself in the part? "A friend of mine introduced me to this fan trailer of me as the Green Lantern, which tickled me to no end," he said. "It was actually really incredibly well done."
Such a nice guy. Thoughts on the Green Lantern movie, Ryan Reynolds or Nathan Fillion? You know the drill - get stuck in below... (PS Fans of superheroes generally might also want to look out for the next SFX Special, on sale Wednesday 2 September!)
