Naomi Watts signs on for Eastwoods J Edgar
Joins Leonardo DiCaprio
Naomi Watts may have been completely ignored during this year’s Oscar nominations, but that hasn’t stopped the actress bagging a coveted role in Clint Eastwood’s new movie.
She has joined the cast of J. Edgar , a biopic that tracks the life of renowned FBI director J. Edgar Hoover. Leo DiCaprio has already signed on to play the man himself.
Watts will reportedly take on the role of Helen Gandy, the woman who was Hoover’s secretary for over 54 years between 1918-1972.
The role was originally being considered by Charlize Theron, who eventually turned it down in favour of a part in Snow White And The Huntsman.
J. Edgar will also star Judi Dench, Ed Westick, Armie Hammer and Josh Lucas. We wonder if Watts will get that deserved second Oscar nod for the role in the next couple of years…
