MotorStorm 2 gets 4-player split-screen
Brutal. Off-road. Racing.
A new video of MotorStorm: Pacific Rift has been showcased in London.
"IT'S NOT JUST A GAME. IT'S A WAY OF LIFE. IT'S BRUTAL," Creative Director Paul Hollywood bellowed repeatedly during PS Day today. Oh, and he also mentioned something about 4-player split-screen racing in the new game.
MotorStorm 2 will be set on an island, which will be your new nemesis. "A dangerous and unpredictable foe now awaits you," said Hollywood.
The terrain and whether on The Island are slightly hostile, you see. It's brutal out there, with destructible trees and foliage growing all over the place, which you can cut through instead of using the track.
The larger the vehicles, the greater effect they'll have on the environment. So take a small bike and you'll have to follow the bigger vehicles if you want to make use of the shortcuts. You just won't be brutal enough to do it yourself.
To help, they'll be a new vehicle in the sequel, in the form of a Monster Truck. "The Monster Truck is a climber," said Hollywood, "it's a predator - it just wants to crush other vehicles. You're here to bully everyone else." So yeah - brutal.
