Morena Baccarin playing Copycat in Deadpool
The identity of Morena Baccarin’s character in Deadpool has been revealed, with the star set to appear as Copycat.
Baccarin tweeted an image from the set of the film, showing a chair with “Vanessa” written on the back. While there has been no official confirmation, we’d say it’s a fairly safe bet that’s a reference to Vanessa Carlysle, otherwise known as Copycat.
A shape-shifting mutant in the comic-books, Copycat is a former prostitute turned mercenary, who will likely serve as love interest to the titular hero in the new film.
Hopefully she’ll have a bit more to do than that, though, with the character proving herself a bona fide badass in the source material. As a metamorph, she makes Mystique look like an amateur…
Directed by Tim Miller and co-starring Ryan Reynolds, Gina Carano and T.J. Miller, Deadpool will open in the UK and US on 12 February 2016.
