More of Mass Effect in action

The Mass Effect trailer at this year's E3 promised more than a spectacular game. With dramatic voiceover, flashes of heart-beating action, a hint of romance and a truly menacing villain, the trailer also promised a full-blown cinematic experience on the level of something like Star Wars.

And, just like a movie studio, developer BioWare is now releasing extended "director's cut" versions of its teasers. The video below contains the same big moments as the original cut, but fleshes out the key scenes with extra takes and angles.

Best of all is the new gameplay footage - most of it combat - sprinkled throughout. Remember all the cool things we described in ourrecent preview? Now you can see them for yourself - Commander Shepard rocketing aliens into the air with his biotic powers, the MAKO terrain vehicle splashing through the watery world of Virmire and the interactive galaxy map, to name a few.

Seriously, is it November yet?
