Gearbox Software has announced plans to release a fresh wave of Borderlands 2 DLC. First, the studio will launch the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2, which will raise the level cap by 11 to 72. According to OXM, it’ll also add the ability to change difficulty levels "for extra challenges" and a new Digistruct Peak Challenge, which sees Vault Hunters join Professor Tannis to train new Crimson Raiders following the events of the main story.
Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford told PAX Australia attendees over the weekend that he also hopes to release "two or three" Headhunter DLC packs, the first of which will be T.K. Baha's Bloody Harvest, which will reintroduce original Borderlands character T.K. Baha. While there’s no confirmed release date for either piece of content, Pitchford said they'll arrive by Halloween on October 31. The Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2 will cost $5, while Headhunter pack prices have yet to be announced. The fourth and final DLC expansion made available as part of the Borderlands 2 season pass was June’s Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep.
Borderlands 2 launched last September and shipped six million units in 2012, according to publisher Take-Two. We said of the shooter-RPG hybrid in our Borderlands 2 review: “If you like to shoot, and you dig collecting loot, Borderlands 2 has enough to scratch your itch for some time to come.”
