Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Monster Guide

Great Jaggi

Element: None
Ailment: None
Weakness: Fire
Injured Sign: Limping
Breakable Spots: Frill

Tips: Try to break his frill if you need a frill part. He always does two spins in a row, and they are easy to dodge. He will call smaller Jaggi reinforcements on occasion, but overall, Great Jaggi is the easiest large monster in the game to take down, so just focus him for the win.

Seltas

Element: None
Ailment: Defense Down, Fatigue
Weakness: Thunder, Fire
Injured Sign: Limping
Breakable Spots: Horn

Tips: Try to mount Seltas for a fast takedown. Dodge his spit and his charge and you’re on easy street.

Kecha Wacha

Element: Water
Ailment: Waterblight
Weakness: Fire, Thunder
Injured Sign: Limping
Breakable Spots: Ears, Claws, Tail

Tips: Kecha Wacha is small and wiry. Unless you really need to break his ears, try to attack him from the side. He likes to spit goop and swish his arms around. If he’s hanging upside down, try to flank him from behind to knock him down. When he folds his ears over his face, he’s enraged, and he’ll try to charge you – so make sure you get out of the way!

Tetsucabra

Element: None (In Frozen Seaway, he picks up Ice and has the Ice element)
Ailment: Fatigue, Iceblight, Severe Iceblight
Weakness: Water, Thunder
Injured Sign: Limping
Breakable Spots: Tusks, Front and Hind Legs, Back

Tips: Tetsucabra is big and slow, so it's easy to break his tusks. When he picks up a boulder, try to wail on his tail, because it becomes the weakest part of his body. It is generally safe to attack Tetsucabra from the side. He has one move where he rolls on his side, but there is plenty of time to dodge once you know the tell.

Velocidrome

Element: None
Ailment: Fireblight, Defense Down, Blastblight
Weakness: Ice
Injured Sign: Limping, Attempts to flee
Breakable Spots: Crest

Tips: Velocidrome fights similarly to Great Jaggi. He will call smaller Velocipreys to aid him duing battle. He will puff smoke when enraged, and also has a pin attack, so bring Dung Bombs.
