Three kids, a house, and some power-ups. No, it's not some cable network's lame attempt at videogame television. It's THQ's Monster House for Nintendo DS. While you might think this is just a cheap, licensed product based on a summer blockbuster, the game actually offers some decent, classic-arcade action.

The movie pits three kids against an evil house that's snatching up their neighbors. The game does the same, but instead of the adventure found in the movie you get arcade action in the vein of Smash TV. It's a surprisingly satisfying romp of mindless violence where you basically shoot everything in sight with a water gun.
