HULK BOX OFFICE SMASH!
The Avengers has made $178.4 million in its opening weekend, and that's before it gets its US release on 4 May. According to Box Office Mojo , the international release saw the movie open in 39 territories and top every single one of their box offices. As the queues at cinemas here will testify to, the film did well in the UK, taking over £15 million, making it the 16th highest opening weekend for a film. In all, 12 opening weekend records were set internationally.

STAR TREK WHO?
In answer to the question, “Are you in Star Trek 2 ?” Leonard Nimoy has changed his answer from “No”, to “We’re talking”. Den of Geek reports the news that Nimoy, in an interview with CNN, has got Trek fans’ ears pricked up once again.

AN AMAZING POSTER
In poster news, The Amazing Spider-Man has a new one out. It shows a slashed Spidey standing over a dark New York. Moody as ever. Hat tip to Den of Geek .

GAIMAN AND KING
Neil Gaiman's been exercising his journalistic side by interviewing Stephen King. This meeting of twisted minds took place at the request of the Sunday Times and, as the paper's website is behind a paywall, Gaiman has kindly posted the unedited interview on his blog . The legendary author discusses money worries, being more than just a horror writer, how long they could keep publishing his work if he was to die tomorrow, and The Shining 's sequel.

SKYRIM DLC IMMINENT
Details of Skyrim 's DLC might have been revealed says Forbes . Just in case Bethesda's epic hasn't sapped enough of our lives, they are all set to expand the world of Tamriel, with a DLC teaser imminent. One impatient user on the Bethesda forums scanned the code for the most recent game patch and came across bits concerning crossbows, snow elves and even a snow elf prince. While it's possible that these are just bits of code which didn't make the final version, that hasn't stopped fans from getting excited.

THE GAMING DEAD
While fans of The Walking Dead await the next season of the show, they can enjoy the first episode of the videogame. "A New Day" is out now on PC, Mac, Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network, and has garnered some decent reviews. Check out Telltale Games’ site for more .

Lastly, E.T. has topped a poll of the best Universal Pictures moments of the past 100 years. Elliott and E.T. sailing across the moon on a bicycle was voted viewers’ favourite scene in a poll of UK film fans, conducted to celebrate the studio’s 100th anniversary.
