Modern Warfare 3: first content drop goes live on PS3 this month
Sony Elitists to join their Xbox counterparts on first two DLC maps
Activision's just announced that the first two content drops for Modern Warfare 3 will launch on PS3 at the end of the month. Just as with the content's Xbox 360 release (which players saw last month, due to a first-look deal between Microsoft and Activision), subscribers to the company's Call of Duty Elite service will get first crack at the new content, scheduled to go live February 28.
The new content comprises two new multiplayer maps, Liberation and Piazza. True to the game's mix of “foreign intrigue” and “NYC getting royally effed up,” the maps mix Piazza's Italian seaside charm with Liberation's military-occupied Central Park. The content kicks off a nine-month stream of content that'll release first for Elite subscribers, and then to the pay-as-you-go general public – who won't be seeing the maps even on Xbox until March. Elite members, how're you liking the service so far?
