Microsoft prices UK Xbox One games at 50

Microsoft has priced its first-party Xbox One games at £49.99 in the UK. Having recently confirmed that it’ll offer software for the upcoming console at $59.99 in the US, the company has begun listing prices on its online store in the UK.

Microsoft developed titles Forza Motorsport 5 and Kinect Sports Rivals will cost £49.99, as will third-party developed but Microsoft published games Ryse: Son of Rome and Dead Rising 3. Accessories such as the Xbox One Wireless Controller and the Play and Charge Kit have yet to priced.

In February, Sony Computer Entertainment America CEO Jack Tretton told CNBC that PS4 game prices will range from $.99 to $60 for full retail titles, although SCE Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida wouldn’t confirm this in an interview conducted with Kotaku at E3 last month.

Activision and Ubisoft also declined to offer next-gen software pricing plans when contacted by Kotaku. However, EA chief operating officer Peter Moore suggested during an E3 analyst call that his firm won't be raising the cost of games, noting: "You see a $60 price for a next-gen game whereas we believe [with digital downloads] we can get $70, $80, $90 from the consumer, but it's a $60 price point."

Microsoft has confirmed that Xbox One will launch in 21 markets this November priced at £430 / $500. PS4 will be released “this holiday” priced at £349 / €399 / $399.
