Michael Keaton says he would play Batman again
And explains why he turned down Batman Forever
Michael Keaton has been reminiscing about his time as Batman, and says he would re-don the cape and cowl if the chance of a reunion with Tim Burton ever presented itself.
“If it was Tim Burton directing?” clarified Keaton, when asked by Entertainment Weekly whether he would ever consider playing the character again. “In a heartbeat.”
“Tim, in the movies, really invented the whole dark-superhero thing. He started everything, and some of the guys who have done these movies since then don’t say that, and they’re wrong.”
Meanwhile, Keaton also revealed that he was offered a whopping $15 million to return to the role for Batman Forever , but decided against it for creative reasons…
“It sucked,” says Keaton, explaining why he turned the movie down. “Yeah, it was just awful.” Let’s hope Joel Schumacher isn’t reading…
