Michael Dougherty says Trick Or Treat
Superman Returns co-writer directing Halloween anthology pic
The blokes behind Superman Returns’ script have clearly just been hanging around with Bryan Singer to get directing tips. Okay, maybe not, but with Dan Harris already having made the kudos-grabbing Imaginary Heroes, it’s now the turn of Michael Dougherty.
And it sounds like he’s got a serious case of the Tim Burtons. His first directorial effort, which he starts work on in November, is Trick Or Treat, interweaving four tales of chaos and horror in the same Halloween night. It’s being described as the Pulp Fiction of terror. If he gets Quentin Tarantino to act in it, then that will be terror. Thank you, we’ll be here all week.
It’s not the first time that Dougherty has tackled creepy tales. He’s already written and directed an animated short Season’s Greetings, which sees a mischievous child confronting the boogieman who steals his haul of sweets.
