MGS4 isn't the last Metal Gear, says Konami
This is really just the last chapter of the Solid Snake story
Here we go again; despite images of Snake shooting himself in the face, and Kojima publicly hanging up his bandanamore than once, MGS4 is not the last Metal Gear, Konami insists.
"I think there have been some misconceptions that this is the last Metal Gear," associate producer Ryan Payton toldMTV. "This is really just the last chapter of the saga of the Solid Snake story.
"I think he is kind of nervous about it," Payton continued. "You can’t continue from this step. You can’t start next chapter. We really do close up the story."
But do we really want another Metal Gear without Kojima and more specifically, without Snake?
"[Solid Snake] was a burden [for Kojima] because of all those loose ends," Payton said. "So when you play Metal Gear Solid 4 and when you get to the end, I think you’re going to feel that wow, this is a nice closure. All of the weird stuff that’s gone on in the past, its all coming to an end - all those weird questions, everything is answered."
MGS4 is out on June 12.
