Why you can trust 12DOVE
When you’re making soldier pancakes with a screen-tall stomp-bot, you know you’re playing Metal Slug. You know you’re playing Metal Slug on the DS when the whole thing stutters like a handheld trying to pump out sprite work too grand for it. Which, er, is exactly what’s happening. Seeing guards evaporated with a shotgun and riding the new Slugs is fun, but traditional co-op play is sorely missed. A series of extra missions try to fill the gap, but you never shake the feeling that the DS isn’t a natural fit.
