Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for PS Vita release date set for summer
Konami upgrading second and third Metal Gear Solid games for PS Vita
Konami announced it will be porting its 2011 Metal Gear Solid HD Collection to the PlayStation Vita sometime this summer. The studio said the collection will include PS Vita-fied versions of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. As to the absence of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker – which was included in the North American version of the collection – Konami confirmed to GR that only the second and third titles in the series would make the PS Vita leap, and that more details would be announced shortly. Perhaps that means other downloads are in store?
Konami's general manager Martin Shneider also pitched the collection's PS Vita features in today's announcement, saying, “We’re confident that users will be pleased with the new innovations Kojima Productions have implemented with the new PlayStation Vita iterations, offering a truly unique experience for this exciting new format.”
Snake made the trip to another “exciting new format” earlier this year with Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D on 3DS. Read our luke-warm review of that portable entry here.
