Metal Gear Solid 4 bosses revealed

The first thing we noticed were the names. Mantis, Wolf, Raven, Octopus - all names of the original FOXHOUND unit that occupied Shadow Moses all those years ago. In fact these characters physically seem to be a cross breed of the original MGS1 bosses and the creatures after which they are named.

We've no idea if they will act the same as their animal counterparts, but the concept of Laughing Octopus trying to blind Snake with ink is faintly hilarious. There is one very prominent change from the previous Metal Gear instalments; the bosses all appear to be cyborgs, with not a single strip of flesh in sight. They're slightly reminiscent of transformers.

Conspiracy theories are, of course, abounding, but now we know that Liquid's arm has finallyassumed dominance over Revolver Ocelot, then a possible reincarnation of the original Shadow Moses crew is a distinct possibility. Or are they experiemental Metal Gears? Quite where Vamp, reeecently seen duelling with series misfit Raiden fits into this is anyone's guess. But Kojima hasn't let us down so far, and with assurances that everythiing is going to be wrapped up amid the rising intrigue, we're not going to start doubting him now.
