What to expect from Memorial Day gaming laptop deals in 2024
The best Memorial Day gaming laptop deals might not be the most obvious time of the year to walk away with a bargain but you'll be surprised at what you can get. Even taking into account the likes of Black Friday, Amazon Prime Day and Cyber Monday, we occasionally see some deals that top the lot on Memorial Day. Specifically, it's great for last year's models as the biggest brands have had their 2024 iterations on the shelves for a couple of months now. That means 2023's heavy hitters could see some new record low prices.
The majority of gaming laptop deals hitting the shelves at the moment are centered around these late 2023 models. While you can sometimes find the odd discount on newer Dell G16 or HP Omen Transcend 14 models, it's last year's Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, Razer Blade 16, and Alienware M18 models that are likely to put up the highest value discounts in this year's sales.
We'd recommend keeping a close eye out for the Asus ROG Strix Scar 16 in particular - this is our favorite gaming laptop of the moment, and being a slightly older release it could well drop to some new price lows over Memorial Day. That's right at the top of the price range, so expect to still pay over $2,000 for a solid configuration.
The older 2023 Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 could be a better option for those after a more mid-range price tag. RTX 4060 configurations of this model have been at $899 on and off at Best Buy for some time now, so we're holding out for a return to this position (and hopefully $999 for an RTX 4070 model).
Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, and Newegg are usually the best places to go in our experience for great budget deals. Many of these will be live ahead of the big day itself, with everything from Alienware and Acer to Razer and MSI expected to be present. Whatever you're looking for, there's a good chance it'll be cheaper during Memorial Day.

That said, a lot of retailers will keep a few offers live until as late as the Wednesday (May 29th) after Memorial Day. If you see a great price early, we always recommend jumping on it - stock may sell out, effectively ending the deal ahead of time.
