Melissa McCarthy is The Boss in first trailer for new comedy
Next year promises to be a big one for Melissa McCarthy. In addition to the highly anticipated Ghostbusters reboot, the actress is re-teaming with her Tammy director (and husband), Ben Falcone in The Boss, and the first trailer has just landed online.
Check it out below...
As the footage illustrates, McCarthy stars as Michelle Darnell - the self-proclaimed richest woman in America - who gets sent to prison when she's convicted of insider training. When she's released she attempts to start a new empire with the help of her forgiving former underling Claire, played by Kristen Bell.
The trailer is perhaps a little too forthcoming; by the end of the 160 second clip, much of the plot has been revealed. With that said, it's a very funny tease and Darnell is clearly right in McCarthy's wheelhouse. Let's just hope it's better than Tammy...
Directed by Falcone and starring McCarthy, Bell, Kathy Bates and Peter Dinklage, The Boss will be released in the US on April 8 2016 before making its way to the UK on June 10 2016.
