More SF and fantasy authors to attend the SFX Weekender in February
With just a fortnight to go, we're proud to announce more authors who'll be participating in panels, signing sessions, drinking at the bar and other top convention activities.
Black Library writer Graham McNeill worked on projects for Games Workshop such as the Tau, Necrons and Space Marines codices before becoming a full time novelist. His fantasy novel Empire won the 2010 David Gemmell Legend Award for best fantasy novel. His 2010 book A Thousand Sons , a Horus Heresy novel written in sync with one by Dan Abnett, not only reached the top of the UK science fiction charts (displacing Charlaine Harris), but also hit the New York Times bestseller list.
Author and editor Ian Whates first published stories in the late 1980s in small press magazines and in 2006 launched independent publisher NewCon Press. His first two completed novels are City Of Dreams And Nightmare via Angry Robot and The Noise Within from Solaris. In addition to his publishing and writing, Ian is currently a director of both the Science Fiction Writers of America (SFWA) and the British Science Fiction Association (BSFA).
And don't forget that Gollancz author Suzanne McLeod , author of the Spellcrackers series, will also be attending. Her fourth book in the series, The Shifting Price Of Prey , will be out in June although before then you can read a Spellcrackers short story in the March anthology Home Improvement: Undead Edition .
