Meet the 'Crusher' in Aliens: Colonial Marines video walkthrough
Sega releases lengthy Aliens preview from its private E3 presentation
Sega has posted over 11 minutes of Aliens: Colonial Marines footage originally screened behind closed doors with Gearbox Software at E3 2011. Watch and listen as Gearbox president Randy Pitchford talks viewers through a tour of the game's derelict environments and a frantic encounter with extraterrestrial baddies both familiar and new.
“We're really excited about it,” says Pitchford at the beginning of the presentation. “We're big Aliens nerds. Heck, I've been stealing from Aliens for my entire career – so many of us have in fact; it's been a big influence on all science fiction, and it's nice to finally get into the actual material and basically make – in video game form – the sequel to the Aliens films that we all wished for.”
GR had a chance tosit in on Gearbox's hands-off preview back at the big show in June, and we were impressed with how closely the game appears to mimic the film franchise in terms of story and atmosphere.
Expect to see much more of Aliens: Colonial Marines, with or without Pitchford's play-by-play, before the game finally ships for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC in Spring 2012.
