McGregor and Griffiths join Jackboots On Whitehall
Team Britain gets new castmembers...
Jackboots On Whitehall, the comedy that uses action figures to imagine what would happen if Germany had invaded Britain during World War II, leading it to be dubbed the British Team America by, well, everyone, has added a couple more quality names to its already impressive cast list.
Joining Richard E Grant, Richard O’Brien and Tom Wilkinson in the silly voice recording booth will be Ewan McGregor, as a heroic Scottish farmhand, and the BAFTA-nominated Richard Griffiths as Luftwaffe leader Hermann Goering.
Griffiths will be one of many British thesps playing real-life historical figures, including Timothy Spall as Winston Churchill and Alan Cumming as Adolf Hitler.
It’s a project that looked to have ‘risky’ written all over it, but with a cast like that, how can it go wrong? We don’t know, but as long as it’s nothing like Churchill: The Hollywood Years, we’ll be happy.
