Matt Smith On Doctor Who 50th Anniversary & Series Seven
None
Could there be lean times ahead for the show?
Matt Smith told BBC Breakfast this morning that filming starts in February for 14 new episodes of Doctor Who , including a full series, a Christmas special and a 50th anniversary special, which will be a one-off.
Now, Matt may have got his maths wrong, but does that mean that between the 2011 Christmas special and the 50th anniversary special (which you’d assume would be shown sometime around November 2013) we’re only going to get 13 episodes in total? A 12 episode series plus a Christmas special.
We wouldn’t take this as an official announcement just yet, but from Matt’s statement it does seem as if 2012 and 2013 is going to be a lean period for Who , but with one hell of a celebration to make up for it. We await further confirmation. [via Bleeding Cool ]
