Masters Of The Universe draws up a shortlist of directors
Jeff Wadlow and Harald Zwart in the mix
Masters Of The Universe is on the hunt for a new director after the departure of Jon M. Chu, with Sony having reportedly whittled down the potential candidates into a shortlist.
A quartet of new names have been linked to the vacant director’s chair, with Harald Zwart, Jeff Wadlow, Chris McKay and Mike Cahill all said to be in the running.
Chu dropped out of the film nearly five months ago, on account of scheduling difficulties, with Zwart now thought to be the frontrunner after successfully helming Sony’s Karate Kid reboot and delivering an adaptation of The Mortal Instruments .
The project currently has a script penned by Terry Rossio, last seen co-writing The Lone Ranger , with earlier contributions having been made by Alex Litvak and Mike Finch.
No casting has taken place as yet, but expect the wheels to begin turning on that front as soon as a director is confirmed. In the meantime, you can leave your suggestions for who should play He-Man in the comments below…
