Mass Effect 3 Epilogue DLC out now for Xbox 360
Will the controversy end?
The highly controversial, yet much anticipated epilogue DLC expansion for MAss Effect 3 has officially launched on Xbox 360 today. Hopefully this added clarification can offer some moment of solace to ME3 fans who felt slighted by a (according to them) sloppy ending.
When ME3 launched last March the outcry was almost instant. Fans who had invested large swaths of time in the series, and had become emotionally invested in the characters felt that the ending did not do justice to the series. In fact, many alleged that the ending simply didn't make any sense under any level of scrutiny.
Bioware controversially responded by saying that they would be clarifying their original set of endings with an epilogue DLC that would provide added closure for long-time fans. They said the ending would not fundamentally change, but they agreed that some clarification was in order.
To that end, today they released a whopping 1.9GB DLC pack with four new endings (which we'll post shortly,) which are already up on the internet if you want to save yourself the trouble of actually playing the game. Hopefully this pack can bandage the wound in the ME fan community. Though we have a feeling this is only the beginning of a brand new controversy.
The PC and PS3 versions of the epilogue should be out some time today.
