Marvel plans Agent Carter TV series
Hayley Atwell's character to receive spin-off
Hayley Atwell could be set for a recurring role as S.H.I.E.L.D. operative Peggy Carter, after Marvel revealed plans to give her character a spin-off TV show.
Having appeared in Captain America: The First Avenger and Marvel One-Shot Agent Carter , it seems as though Atwell is set to get her wish with the chance to explore the character further.
Deadline reports that Marvel is in the early phase of developing a TV series, with the studio reportedly on the hunt for potential writers. While Deadline 's report says it's not clear if Atwell will reprise the role, it's hard to imagine anyone else taking it over.
Meanwhile, Agent Carter director Louis D'Esposito has confirmed that there is more to come from the character, with talks ongoing as to how best to continue her story.
"There are going to be more Peggy Carter stories that we need to tell," says D'Esposito. "What we’ll do and how we’ll do it has not been determined yet, but those discussions have started."
