Marvel confirms Thor 2 and Captain America 2 for Comic-Con
Makes reference to “ever-expanding Marvel Universe”
Marvel has confirmed that both Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Thor: The Dark World will be heading to Comic-Con, while making an intriguing reference to Phase 3 of its cinematic output.
As well as confirming the aforementioned sequels, the official press notes promise that the Marvel panel will include “an inside look at the ever-expanding Marvel cinematic universe.”
Could it be that the studio will use the convention to officially unveil its Phase 3 lineup? With a number of untitled projects currently pencilled in on its release slate, now might be the perfect time to reveal what those mystery films actually are.
There are currently four Marvel titles in line to follow The Avengers 2 , with Ant-Man arriving on 6 November 2015, before the first untitled film on 6 May 2016, the second on 8 July 2016, and another on 5 May 2017.
Marvel has previously used the convention to make huge announcements (remember the whole Avengers shebang back in 2010), so don’t be surprised to see some huge developments unfold when Comic-Con kicks off on 18 July…
