Martian Manhunter will be released as a playable Injustice: Gods Among Us character at the end of the month. NetherRealm made the announcement in a post on the Injustice Facebook page, which made no mention of a Wii U release, suggesting owners of Nintendo's console will again have to wait a little longer for the DLC. “Martian Manhunter will be available to download for PS3 and Xbox 360 on Tuesday, July 30,” the studio said. “Who's ready for J'onn J'onzz?”
DC Comics character Martian Manhunter is an alien warrior who was accidentally transported to Earth during a science experiment. Previously released Injustice DLC characters include Lobo, Batgirl, Scorpion and General Zod, all of whom were available to buy at a discount as part of the Injustice season pass. Presumably the latest character will be made available as a standalone purchase. Amazon recently listed an as-yet-unannounced Injustice Game of the Year Edition for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, PC and Vita, suggesting the game will be making its way to new platforms this November with a bunch of additional content, most likely the characters released as DLC.
Last Friday we ranked the top 25 superhero games of all time, with Injustice placing at No.7. We said: “Not only does Injustice offer an epic crossover worthy of an actual comic series--it's also a fantastic fighting game, with all the competitive trappings you'd expect from the genre. It's one of the most faithful, hard-hitting brawlers a comic lover could hope to own."
