Mark Wahlberg says Michael Bay will direct Transformers 5
There have been plenty of column inches dedicated to the writers room that has been created for the ongoing future of the Transformers franchise, but an immediate question mark still remains over just who is going to direct Transformers 5. However, Mark Wahlberg seems convinced that Michael Bay will be returning to take the helm for one more outing…
"Yes," replied Wahlberg when asked by Colliderwhether he expected Bay to direct. "Bay is in Malta shooting Benghazi, and I’m in New Orleans shooting Deepwater. We’ll get together when he gets back."
When pressed for any further details, Wahlberg went on to reveal that he is relatively in the dark about the new film. "I don’t [have an update]," said the star. "Just that Akiva [Goldsman] and those guys are starting to write and break stories, and stuff like that." The fifth film is expected to arrive in cinemas in 2017, but an official release date has yet to be confirmed.
