Mark Millar reveals plot details for Kick-Ass 2
It’s all about the villains this time
Mark Millar has teased fans with a newly released nugget of narrative info on Kick-Ass 2 and it sounds like there’s a shift in focus from the first film.
Millar recently spoke about the follow-up to AskMen UK , and the comments will come in handy for anyone who hasn't ready the comic book's sequel.
“ Kick-Ass was about a kid who loved superhero comics going out dressed up as a superhero and doing what he had always fantasized about doing. The sequel is more like A Clockwork Orange , about a bunch of little shits who are like “Oh my god there’s these superheroes out there, let’s go and [ frick ] them up,” said Millar.
"They dress up as super villains to try and find them and go about doing robberies and rapes dressed as super villains. Kick-Ass felt like what a real superhero would be like and Kick-Ass 2 is about what a supervillain would be like” he told AskMen UK .
Although it’s yet to be confirmed whether any of the original cast will be donning their capes and leotards anew, additions to the line-up are set to include two major new characters.
“Mother Russia [ is ] pumped up on steroids – she’s the ultimate killing machine. Then there’s an older superhero, a retired guy who’s fed up with the little shits in the neighborhood and forms a team of superheroes. I had Johnny Depp in mind when I was writing, but I said that in an interview, then the next day it went on like 500 websites.”
A return to the Kick-Ass 2 universe is a tasty enough prospect in itself, but it'll certainly be interesting to see what this she-villain and Depp-esque vigilante can bring to the table.
