You probably know Mark Hamill as one of two things: the voice of The Joker or, if you're a movie fan, the man who plays Luke Skywalker. But before the return of the Jedi (to theaters), Hamill will be playing a role in a very different sci-fi universe; Halo's Hunt the Truth podcast, which turned traditionally held heroic portrayals of Master Chief and his fellow Spartans on their head. It’s coming back for a second season and Hamill's will be among the voices featured in this radio drama.
Other cast members for Hunt the Truth season 2 include Janina Gavankar (True Blood), Tamara Taylor (Bones), Vanessa Marshall (Star Wars Rebels), Alan Tudyk (Firefly), Rosa Salazar (Insurgent), Bruce Thomas (Army of Darkness), Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy) and William Salyers (Regular Show). Time magazine has an exclusive audio clip teaser of the upcoming season, featuring FERO, a mysterious character who helped previous season protagonist Benjamin Giraud uncover conspiracies lurking within the humanity’s military.
How those mysteries fit into the plot of Halo 5: Guardians is anyone's guess, but also part of the fun. Halo hasn't really challenged the narrative of "Covenant bad, humans good, Spartan humans even gooder" before. I look forward to getting knee-deep in lore when Hunt the Truth season 2 begins tomorrow.
