Why you can trust 12DOVE
Whether you’re on the mound or at the plate, though, power-ups drive your success. They show up every so often each inning, and it’s a game in and of itself to pick the right moment to use them. From special pitches that bury themselves in the ground or split in two to hitting options that light baseballs on fire or drip them in grease, using them well makes the difference between winning and losing.
As a (re)start, Fantasy All-Stars is a solid effort, sporting a fun and whimsical take on the national pastime. While there’s plenty we’d like to see fleshed out (especially the skimpy single-player modes and badly out-of-date rosters), it’s a more-than-welcome effort that does right by the DS platform. The kids’ll like it and the dads will understand it – that’s what we call win-win.
