Madden 15 Ultimate Team tips
Getting Started
When you first log into Madden Ultimate Team, you’ll be asked to pick a team. This will determine your default Home / Away jerseys as well as your stadium. After that, you’ll be asked to select one Play Style; this determines which of the NFL’s Rookie Class will be put on your team at the beginning, along with your Head Coach and 3 other players that complement your Style.
Play Style is a key element of MUT team construction. As you gain more players that fit your chosen Play Style, your team will receive a ratings boost to certain stats.
Play Style – NFL Rookie You Receive
- Short Pass: Browns’ QB Johnny Manziel
- Long Pass: Bills’ WR Sammy Watkins
- Ground and Pound: 49ers’ HB Carlos Hyde
- Speed Run: Titans’ HB Bishop Sankey
- Zone Defense: Packers’ FS Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
- Man Defense: Bengals’ CB Darqueze Dennard
- Pass Rush: Raiders’ ROLB Khalil Mack
- Run Stuff: Texans’ RE Jadeveon Clowney
PRO TIP - Starting with Ground and Pound is a solid choice. When you start playing Solo Challenges the fastest way to win them is to go with running plays and chewing the clock. While Carlos Hyde may not be the fasted HB (83 SPEED), he does have good ratings in Carrying (87) and Truck (86) that will allow him to grind out first downs.
Every player you get has a host of attributes, from Speed to Strength and dozens of others. A player’s overall rating is a nice quick view into his value, but individual attributes are more important than others for different players. Based upon the Play Style that you choose, your players will receive additional boosts to their attributes.
Play Style – Boosted Attributes
- Short Pass: Pass Block (PBK) and Catch In Traffic (CIT)
- Long Pass: Pass Block (PBK) and Route Running (RTE)
- Ground and Pound: Run Block (RBK) and Trucking (TRK)
- Speed Run: Run Block (RBK) and Elusiveness (ELU)
- Zone Defense: Play Recognition (PRC) and Zone Coverage (ZCV)
- Man Defense: Play Recognition (PRC) and Man Coverage (MCV)
- Pass Rush: Block Shedding (BKS) and Pursuit (PUR)
- Run Stuff: Tackle (TAK) and Block Shedding (BKS)
