Mad Max release set for September, no more PS3 and 360 versions
If you're tired of blasting your way through post-apocalyptic wastelands by now, I can hardly blame you... but c'mon. Mad Max pretty much kicked the whole thing off. And now developer Avalanche has revealed that its open-world car combat game is headed to PC, PS4, and Xbox One on September 1.
Nope, this isn't another case of the last-gen versions coming in late. Game Informer reports that Avalanche dropped its plans for Mad Max on PS3 and Xbox 360 so it can focus on using new-gen power to provide broader horizons and more impressive visual effects.
A September 1 release would see the road warrior squaring off directly against Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. MGS5's date just leaked today, so if you happen to see news of a quiet week-or-two delay for Mad Max show up in the near future, you can probably guess why.
Mad Max was originally revealed at E3 2013 and planned for release in 2014, but it slipped into 2015 early last year. Mad Max: Fury Road is set to hit theaters on May 15.
The last few months are going to be busy for Avalanche, since the studio's also plans to release Just Cause 3 in "holiday 2015".

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
This new indie D&D campaign setting brings Studio Ghibli and Zelda: Breath of the Wild aesthetics and worldbuilding to the tabletop RPG, and I'm already scheming hard as a DM
I've seen enough: Assassin's Creed Shadows will beat Black Flag as my favorite AC game as Ubisoft says it lets you "Naruto run" as the "fastest Assassin" it's ever made
