But are people dying to play something this simple on their home system? Sure, it's fun to fire up in quick bursts, but the PS2 is usually reserved more for GTA or God of War, not funkified Tetris. Then again, GTA and God of War don't offer multiplayer... and multiplayer could be where Lumines Plus earns your $30.
The game may seem more at home on the small screen, but how often can you get multiple PSPs together for an ad hoc session? With Lumines Plus and a second controller, you'll already be set for the fast-paced, "one more round" versus mode that shined in the original Lumines. It's split-screen now, but that didn't affect the competition, as the point has always been to share one board and push the cramping middle line towards your opponent. Seeing what the other person is up to might even add to the strategy.
Lumines Plus is scheduled to hit shelves on February 27. Until then, enjoy some shut eye while you still can.
