Lost Planet - levels 6-11

Here we go - the biggest mission in the game. A lot of the lessons you've learned thus far apply here too. There are multiple paths to take but they all lead to roughly the same place. There's a substantial miniboss here too, large and obnoxious enough to be its own level-ending boss bug. But we'll get to him in a minute. First, use rockets to injure as many of these scorpion bugs as possible, destroy the laser turrets' guidance post (it's the small pole just behind them) and take your VS through the lower chamber. Inside you'll find the "B" token hiding behind the broken door on the right. Once through, climb the rocks and dive into the hole at the summit. The tunnel has a path to the left, but first check the northeastern corner for the "I" mark. It's behind a rock, like so many tokens are these days.

The next big stop is Dark Town, one of the multiplayer maps. This sunken city hides two tokens, "D" and "R," but to get 'em you're gonna have to knock out another armored Akrid and his flying cronies. Stay up top as long as you can, but eventually you'll want to get down 'n' dirty with this guy. There's a tank VS down there as well, so pick it up or stick with what you've got. Another high-end model is perched on the building to the west - when you make your way over there, look along the back wall behind two silos for the "R" mark. It's well-hidden, but there are only so many crannies along that wall near the VS. Next, head to the northwestern corner of the whole city. The "D" is on the western building's awning, too high for your lonesome to see from the ground. A VS, however, can spot it just fine. Your next path is down - two entrances await, but either one will do.

Other than a heaping swarm of fiery Akrid squid monsters, this basement is pretty sparse. Blaze ahead of the enemies, activate the post and you're done. The only thing left ahead is... the gruesome, pincer-headed insect blocking your path. This miniboss Akrid looks tough, but once you know what to do, it's not so bad. See those spiky feelers? The ones constantly trying to smash you? Pick one and fry it. The moment it pops, exit your VS and follow its recoiling path down into the small tunnel. Inside you'll see a heart or eye or something. You can get a shot or two off (rockets, grenades or shotguns work best) before a protective shield raises. Get out quick before the feeler regenerates and do it again on the other side. Eventually the arms will stay gone and you're free to shoot it in its now-uncovered head. No tricks, just stick and move.

Bag this bug and you'll move on to the second part of the level.
