London MCM Expo sponsoring the Best Videogame category at this years SFX Sci-fi Awards

The UK’s answer to Comic-Con joins the Weekender family

Every year the readers of SFX , the world's biggest and best sci-fi magazine, vote in a massive poll to determine the best recent sci-fi and fantasy. Voted for entirely by fans, the 20 categories cover TV, film, games, books, comics - plus actors, directors and more. The period of eligibility this year is 6 December 2009 to 14 December 2010 and this year's winners will be announced on the glittering Saturday night ceremony at the live SFX Weekender event on 5 February 2011. You already knew that but today we’re pleased to announce that London MCM Expo will be sponsoring the Best Videogame category this year! Voting is open right now so head over to www.sfx.co.uk/awards2011 and make sure your voice is heard.

The SFX Weekender 2011 counts the likes of Terry Pratchett, Anthony Head, Craig Charles and George Takei among its ranks, as well as book readings and workshops. If you’d like to join in the fun at the 48-hour sci-fi spectacular from Friday 4th February to Saturday 5th February 2011 (with a pre-party on Thursday 3rd February for the early birds) then head to www.sfxweekender.com for tickets and more information.

London MCM Expo is the UK’s fastest growing entertainment event and is taking place next weekend in the six vast halls of ExCel London . Visitors will have the chance to play, watch and preview the latest sci-fi shows, videogames, anime and comics. Best of all though SFX will be there, manning our stand, wandering the halls and holding the latest round of Blastermind – complete with a very special prize for the winner. Pop along to see us and you’ll receive a manly handshake completely free of charge!
