LittleBigPlanet 2 demo coming in time for the holidays, unlike the game

LittleBigPlanet 2 is one of a number of high-profile titles that had to be pushed back into 2011 to complete development. So visions of Sackboys won't be dancing in anyone's heads this year, but Sony has now confirmed that a playable demo of the game will be pushed out so your holidays don't have to be completely LBP-free.

LittleBigPlanet was supposed to be the game that allowed players to make their own games. Which it did... but only if you wanted to create a platformer game. LittleBigPlanet 2 is much more ambitious, allowing you to craft your own shooter, RPG, fighting game, or whatever else you can think of.

From what Sony says, it sounds like the demo will be more than enough to whet the appetite. Players will be able to go through some of the game's story mode, check out Sackboy's new moves, and even play around with multiplayer a little bit.

In addition, Sonyhas also announced astandalone downloadable game calledSackboy's Prehistoric Moves, which is a quick, 10-level game featuring everyone's favorite sack protagonist, and PlayStation Move support. The game will be included in LBP2, but for those who don't want that full game, Prehistoric Moveswill be available as a stand-alone titlefor$5.99.
