Licence to thrill
The name’s Kidman. Nicole Kidman…
She might have pulled out of appearing in assassin comedy drama Mr & Mrs Smith, but Nicole Kidman is finally strapping on a gun and getting some action.
She’s signed up to star in an untitled spy thriller written by Smith scribe Simon Kinberg, which is described as in the style of The Bourne Identity, but with a female protagonist. Yeah, thanks for that incredible amount of detail. So we’re guessing it’ll be a rough-and-ready thrill package about a confused female agent who tries to figure out her mission while offing lots of people? We figure they won’t bother having her drive a Mini - she’d never fit in the thing.
Next year, expect Tom Cruise to look annoyed as his ex-wife scoops an Oscar nomination for playing the secret agent with a false ear. That’ll teach him for trying to monopolise the action movie genre!
