Let the hopeful self-delusion recommence! The Uncharted movie is back on, and these are the details

Oh we are? Okay then, let's go.

According toVariety, Neil Burger is currently in talks to kickstart the film project, and we're probably looking at a new script, new cast, and new pretty much everything.

Yeah, yeah, I know, Nathan Fillion, Nathan Fillion. Let's get the rest of the details out of the way so we can get on with being disappointed by the ultimate product, shall we?

Burger is currently set to write and direct the new version of Uncharted, and has apparently impressed the Producers and Sony with his idea for the film. Which, in a stunning piece of avant garde thinking, is to actually base it on Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, and make it quite like the actual game it's based on. Burger's CV so far includes Limitless, The Illusionist (the 2006 Edward Norton magician drama, not the 2010 Jacques Tati animated film) and post-Iraq road movie The Lucky Ones. So far, a pretty competent track record, but nothing particularly stunning. There' s no reason he shouldn't be able to stick together a decent Uncharted movie though, provided the script and cast are good enough.

And currently there is no cast. Meaning that Mark Wahlberg is no longer confirmed as Nathan Drake. And you know what that means.

Let the nerdy fanboy man-crush campaign begin once more!
