Let The Right One In heads to the small screen

A&E has snapped up the rights to Swedish vampire drama Let The Right One In and plans to transform the property into a full-blown TV series.

As The Hollywood Reporter outlines, this new version of the chilling undead tale hails from showrunner Jeff Davis and writer Brandon Boyce. The pair previously collaborated on MTV’s small screen Teen Wolf reboot, demonstrating their flair for genre adaptations.

This will be the second time the 2008 movie has been adapted. Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes’ director Matt Reeves filmed it for American audiences in 2010 under the title Let Me In. His feature starred Chloe Grace Moretz and Kodi Smit-McPhee.

As yet there’s no further details on how this re-branded take will approach the material. That being said, it’s expected that it will follow the same story first introduced in John Ajvide Lindqvist’s bestselling novel; a young boy befriends a mysterious new girl who is revealed to be a 100-year old vamp with an unquenchable thirst for blood.
