The best vehicles in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
From rocket-powered minecarts to flying hoverbikes, here's the best TOTK vehicles
Zelda Tears of the Kingdom vehicles are an integral part of the game, sometimes used for quick travel, sometimes used to get past obstacles, sometimes used as drivable killing machines you can use to mow down skeletal Bokoblins like it's the end of Army of Darkness. You create vehicles using Ultrahand, one of the most potent Zelda Tears of the Kingdom abilities, and start storing them ready to summon at any moment with the Autobuild ability. Whatever you want vehicles for, we got all the best vehicles in Zelda TOTK listed out below.
How to make vehicles in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
Before you jump in and start constructing, there are a few core rules to bear in mind when building an extreme vehicle in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom:
- You need to find a way of making sure your vehicle moves. Look for fans, sails, wheels or similar, depending on what you want. Different parts will move the vehicle through different spaces and in different ways.
- You can rearrange pieces if you need to. There's no penalty to using Ultrahand and you can detach pieces as much as you want, so keep mixing and rearranging bits until you get it right.
- Useful parts appear to be around when you need them. For example, when near a lake, keep an eye out for sails. When crossing a pit of lava, there will be an array of Zonai devices at your disposal not far away. The game does want you to succeed, but it wants you to be creative about it.
- You can control a vehicle in different ways. The "controller" joystick is a way of steering whatever you create, but certain pieces can be controlled in specific ways. For example, standing on the edge of the "Wing" piece in mid-flight causes it to turn in that direction - so if you stand on the left side, it turns to the left!
Best vehicles in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
When it comes to building your vehicles, there really is no limit to what you can achieve with the right Zonai devices and some random found items.
This list is in no way exhaustive, but these are some of the coolest vehicles we've come up with so far in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom without the need of Autobuild:
- Hoverbike (Zonai Controller with two downwards-facing fans attached: effectively grants infinite flight! Well, until your battery runs out...)
- Lava Truck (Wood plank, Zonai Wheels, Zonai Controller; can drive across lava and land)
- Rocket-Powered Wings (Zonai Wings, Rocks, Fans, and Controller)
- Rocket-Powered Minecart (Minecart, two Rockets, Fan)
- Rocket-Powered Hot Air Balloon (Zonai Balloon, one Rocket or one Flaming Zonai device)
- Rocket-Powered Lava Truck (a lava truck with two rockets attached...need we say more?)
Remember that things like the Rocket and Flame Zonai devices can be used as weapon attachments when using Fuse, too!
