Looking forward to the 11th Star Trek movie, due next year? Who isn’t? And with fans hoping for concrete announcements at the San Diego Comic Con this week, the internet rumour mill has been churning. None of this has been confirmed by Paramount as of today, but here’s the latest:
Michael Hinman at SyFyPortal reports:
"Zachary Quinto, who introduced himself to television audiences last year as the bad guy Sylar in NBC's Heroes, is being heavily reported to be the new Spock in J.J. Abrams' upcoming Star Trek XI film..."
Meanwhile, Trek Today reports:
"After months of rumours, Matt Damon has said that he will not appear in Star Trek XI, while Zachary Quinto is said to be near signing for the role of Spock... Damon admitted that he was aware of William Shatner's remarks that Damon would make a good Captain Kirk, ‘which I thought was very cool.’ But director J.J. Abrams told Damon personally, ‘The Kirk in my movie is much younger.’"
