The Last Guardian still under work, news hinted
Fumito Ueda says fans should keep an eye out for an official announcement
This time the man behind Ico and Shadow of the Colossus himself has delivered the clockwork reassurance of The Last Guardian's continued existence. Fumito Ueda said on his personal website (is that the best URL ever or what?) he is still working on the game and fans should "keep an eye out" for Sony's official announcement.
"While it’s been a long time coming, The Last Guardian remains under my creative supervision and is still in development by an incredibly talented team," said Ueda, who left Sony Computer Entertainment but has continued development on a freelance basis since 2011.
It's been almost as long since we've heard anything about the game besides "we're still making it!" At this point we wouldn't be surprised to see The Last Guardian skip this generation, much like Ico's leap from PlayStation 1 to PlayStation 2.
Or perhaps it will make one killer swan song for PS3. With Sony likely to unveil its foray into the next generation next week, we may soon know more. Either way, we're eager to see what Ueda does next.
"Moving forward, it is my intent to continue my involvement with The Last Guardian project, as well as pursue new creative projects with a fresh perspective. As I rekindle my passions as a creator, I look forward to seeing where it will take me, and I deeply appreciate your support during this transition."

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
